Royal Nepal Golf Course
The Royal Nepal golf course, the first in Nepal, is compact but this does not always make for a quick round of golf! Topographically this is a difficult course because of its ups and downs - the 9 holes may well feel like more and your score here may reflect that.
Golf Courses of Pokhara
Fulbari Resort Golf Course
The Fulbari Resort & Spa is the only property in Pokhara and outside the Kathmandu Valley to have its own Golf course.
Overview of Golf Course
Hole No. 1 - Eagle's Nest
Only 135 yards from the Tee. Avoid hitting one of the eagles perched on the fence.
Hole No. 2 - Green Canyon
It's named thus because it's right on the edge of the canyon. The fairways are narrow. There are water hazards in front of the green. Bunkers surround the green. O/B on the right. But on the left, there is a big green.
Hole No. 3 - Monkey Business
Careless players beware! As there is a water pond to the left and a bunker to the right, make sure not to hook. Like monkeys on a hot day, your ball may decide to go for a dip!
Hole No. 4 - Yeti Foot Print
Surrounded by bunkers, this green looks like the legendary Yeti's foot print.
Hole No. 5 - Titanic II
This green is at the edge of the steep Green Ganyon. So, when you stand on this green, you feel as if you're standing on the bow od a ship. Therefore, the name Titanic II.
Hole No. 6 - Leopard Crossing
If it's your lucky day, then you may get to see a leopard's paw-marks on the bunkers. Big bunkers and water ponds surround this green too.
Hole No. 7 - Fox Hole
Bunkers and water ponds surround this green. But they are invisible from the Ree. That's the trick of the terrain here.
Hole No. 8 - Fulbari Green
Surrounded by Flowers Shrubs and Water Ponds, this green gives you the feeling of being in a garden.
Hole No. 9 - Banana Grove
This is like an island in a banana grove. Only par 5 Hole.
Hole No. 14 - Signature Green
Back on Hole 9
Theoretically, 245 yard, Par 4 from the Tee, it looks like an amateur hole. But you have to cross two gorges to reach the fairways! You may have utilized a driver during the afternoons or windy days.
Himalayan Golf Courses
Just 7 kilometers from the center of Pokhara city is the 9 holes golf course, which is located in a spellbindingly beautiful amphitheatre like setting of a river canyon scene with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Annapuma Himalayan range. The Clubhouse is perched on the edge of balcony land 250 feet above the river canyon from where you have a bird eye view below of the golf course with scenes of stunning canyon walls dotted with eagles nest, waterfalls and the soothing sight and sound of the Himalayan snow fed river meandering through the golf course.
The course has been designed and constructed by an Ex British Army Sandhurst Commissioned Officer Major RB Gurung MBE, who was exclusively invited to take up the challenge to carve 9 holes Golf Course from what was previously a desolate wasteland of river boulders and swamps. Pokhara is blessed with a very pleasant subtropical climate. Winters are mild with clear visibility, while the summers are an average of 27°C, with evening showers bringing the temperature down immediately Golf can, therefore, be played throughout the year.
After playing this excellent course, golfers can relax at the clubhouse with huge verandas all round, reminiscent of a typical tea plantation manager's bungalow in Assam of India.
